2K Road Marking HB

Application

The 2K Road Marking HB is ideal for lines and symbols (VZ) in outdoor areas that are exposed to high stress.

Suitable substrates: Bituminous substrates* (mastic asphalt, asphalt concrete), concrete and cement-bound substrates and interlocking paving stones.

To increase road safety and improve grip and durability, we recommend using Jansen reflective beads.

It is essential to scatter Jansen reflective beads promptly; please refer to the instructions for use.

* Large-scale application on asphalt surfaces is not recommended, as stress-related cracking may occur.

Drying

(23°C, 60% relative humidity)
Dust dry: approx. 15 minutes, 30 minutes for thicker layers
Can be reworked: after approx. 3 hours
Fully loadable: after 6 hours

» The second layer must be applied within a maximum of 3 days after application of the first coat.
» If this period is exceeded, optimal chemical cross-linking of the coating can no longer be guaranteed.
» To ensure perfect adhesion and surface quality, it is therefore essential to adhere to the specified time window.

The drying time depends on the wet film thickness, temperature, humidity and the material and ceiling temperature. Only open the roadways to traffic after the contractor has checked that they are completely dry.

Type of application

Roller: Lambskin roller

Important note on roller:
When applying with a roller, bear in mind that the paint forms a skin quickly, so it must be applied swiftly.

Airless spraying: Specification for the optimum result

Important note on airless spraying:
1. In the event of prolonged interruptions to work, the premixed Jansen 2K Road Marking HB must be removed from the device in good time. Observe pot life.

2. Before refilling freshly mixed Jansen 2K Road Marking Paint HB with hardener component, it is recommended to first use up the remaining quantity left in the marking machine from the previous day.

This step is for:
• Prevention of mixing materials with different degrees of maturity
• Ensuring consistent processing
• Reduction of colour deviations and adhesion problems
Before refilling, the machine should be checked to ensure that it has been completely emptied and mixed.
